About the Job
NSCE is seeking a child labor expert for the purpose of developing a baseline survey on Child labor and analyzing the labor force along with the Cotton Industry Value Chain in Egypt
Scope of work and expected outputs
- Carry out qualitative and quantitative research and surveys to assess and describe communities that constitute child labor pockets (areas with the highest concentration of the targeted population
- Prepare and compile literature review on the labor force involved including the use of child labor in cotton farming, cotton processing units, and other main sectors of economic activity in different geographical areas in Egypt.
- Evaluation of the access to and the need for education, health care, and other state-provided social services for working children and their families.
- Work in close cooperation with experts to identify the links along with the targeted industry supply chain where there is child labor.
Duration of the assignment: from Dec 2020 to June 2021.

Job Requirements
Qualifications Required
– MSc or Ph.D. in the field of humanities, social science, Human Rights, or labor rights.
– At least 7 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research.
– Previous Experience in field research especially with workers organizations, workers platforms, and other related consultation fields.
– Perfect command of spoken and written English and Arabic, French is an advantage.
– Previous experience in working with the UN is an asset.
